Would you like to sing with us?
THE MAYFIELD FESTIVAL CHOIR has vacancies in all parts and would love to hear from anyone who has experience of choral music and is keen to be part of a friendly but ambitious choir.
We have an exciting programme planned for 2011. On 8th May we will be joined by children from Mayfield Primary School, Skipper’s Hill Manor Prep School and St. Dunstan’s Intermediate Church Choir, soloists from the Royal Academy of Music and the instrumental ensemble London Primavera to perform John Rutter’s Mass of the Children. The concert will also include music by Janáček, the up-and-coming choral composer Tarik O’Regan, Matthew Arnold and the ever-popular Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein.
On 20th November we will perform a St. Cecilia’s Day concert with Purcell’s Hail, Bright Cecilia and Handel’s Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day accompanied by the period instrument orchestra, Canzona.
Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7.30 – 9.30pm in Mayfield Primary School. We will re-start on 10th February. There is a very short voice assesssment (no sight-reading!). You are very welcome to try us out for a couple of rehearsals before the assessment.
